  • Joe has been married 29 years. He and his wife have lived in town for 22 years.  After attending Newtown Schools, their son now attends college in Boston.
  • With great memories of visiting family and friends in Newtown, Joe steered towards settling in Newtown as an adult.
  • Joe enjoys participating in mission trips working alongside teams of enthusiastic high school students who, over the past several years, provided charitable construction rehabilitations in Bridgeport CT, Norwalk CT, Chicago IL, Biloxi MS, Toa Alta Puerto Rico and San Antonio TX.



Did you know?...
  • George completed two Massive Online Open Courses given by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health … “The Data Scientist’s Toolbox”, and “R Programming”.
  • George was instrumental in getting a National Youth Service Organization to change its name, recognizing its service to girls, thus becoming Boys and Girls Clubs of America. 
  • George prompted the conversation that led to Newtown’s purchase of the development rights to Ferris Farm, which enabled the creationof Ferris Acres Creamery. 
  • George wrote a letter that was signed by President Ronald Reagan and sent to millions of households across the Country. 
  • George helped the first Jewish Board Member be appointed to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Eventually this serendipitously led to Major League Baseball’s (MLB) national sponsorship.
  • George completed the New York City Marathon twice, in 1990, in 4 hours 27 minutes, and in 1991, in 4 hours and 17 minutes.
  • George taught the actor Tony Danza how to tend bar.

  • George single-handedly built over 2,000 running feet of stone walls (dry-wall, no mortar), 3 feet high, 3 feet wide, on residence property he once owned
  • George was adopted at birth and just happened to get the best parents in the whole world!
  • George was the person who ran the office in Hartford that drafted all of the Bills introduced into the State House and Senate
  • George has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Two daughters and two grand-daughters also live in Newtown. One granddaughter is a Freshman at Newtown High School one has already graduated.
  • George has been married to Linda for 50 years!
