Objectives: Provide proactive, transparent and compassionate government to the citizens of Newtown. Aggressively pursue improved commucations with the residents and completion of a long range plan to satisfy their needs.

  • B.A. Psychology, Middlebury College; MS Education, Western CT State University
  • Sandy Hook resident & married for 51 years, 5 children-all NHS Graduates

Achievements: Before his retirement, Joe spent 17 years with Perkin Elmer Corporation/OTD as a Section Manager on the Hubble Space Telescope Program. He also held a key position at Sikorsky Aircraft as Senior Contracts Administrator. Joe and his wife, Barbara, are long-time Newtown residents, happily married for 53 years and have five adult children.

Joe plans to run a refreshingly positive campaign focused on the return of, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people". His first priority will be to complete Newtown's strategic plan. He will work diligently to draw all town boards and commissions more closely together, creating greater overall efficiencies. Joe shares your concerns about the financial health of our town and plans to seek public input to guide prudent decision making to ensure monetary stability. He pledges to work for a healthy balance of land use relative to residential and commercial properties, as well as open space. Joe invites all Newtown citizens to come together to create a better Newtown and is available to speak to your group.
