Objectives:	To always provide for and serve all of the citizens of Newtown in the most fair and objective manner possible while always adhering to all of the laws of our State and Town.

Accomplishments:	During my term, I worked closely with our IT Department to continue scanning and uploading all town survey maps and now I have taken over this procedure. These computerized files are available on a dedicated computer located in the Town Clerk's office. This measure prevents further deterioration of these historical records. Over the past year, I acquired the most current software available to town clerks for the purpose of computerizing Newtown's Land Record recording process. The Land Record Index and new to the system, Trade Names, are now instantly recorded onto our website at http://landrecords.newtown-ct.gov. Most recently, over 165 volumes of Land Records were scanned creating the ability to print almost half of the volumes in the vault. This has enabled me to down-size the permanent storage requirements thus creating extra storage needed for our future growth.

Debbie Aurelia is a native Newtowner and our incumbent Town Clerk, serving in this capacity since August of 2007. Prior to her appointment, she served as Assistant Town Clerk for nearly 3 years, stepping up to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the former clerk. Debbie is the proud mother of two sons and a one-year old granddaughter. Debbie has spent many years as an election official, professionally overseeing and reporting accurate, well-documented election results. Active in community service, she is a member of the Newtown Republican Town Committee and serves on Newtown’s newly formed Cultural Arts Commission. As your Town Clerk, Debbie brings a commitment to personal service, as well as the education and training to ensure her office continues to run efficiently, providing the highest level of competent, courteous service to all. Her objective is to always provide for and serve all of the citizens of Newtown in the most fair and objective manner possible while always adhering to all of the laws of our State and Town.
