Debbie Aurelia is a native Newtowner and our incumbent Town Clerk, serving in this capacity since August of 2007. Prior to her appointment, she served as Assistant Town Clerk for nearly 3 years, stepping up to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the former clerk. Debbie is the proud mother of two sons, one attending Western Connecticut State University and one a senior at Newtown High School. Debbie has spent many years as an election official, professionally overseeing and reporting accurate, well documented election results. Active in community service, she is a member of the Newtown Republican Town Committee and serves on Newtown’s newly formed Cultural Arts Commission. As your Town Clerk, Debbie brings a commitment to personal service, as well as the education and training to ensure her office continues to run efficiently, providing the highest level of competent, courteous service to all.
