Derek Pisani has lived in Newtown for over twenty years. He currently sits on the Legislative Council for District 1 has previously served on the Sustainable Energy Commission (SEC) board for Newtown.

Prior to volunteering his service as a public servant, Derek spent over thirty years working in the financial sector with a proven record in back office operations, contract negotiations, compliance, reconciliations, and operational due diligence. All specialized skill sets that transition over nicely to the responsibilities of the Legislative Council. Derek is prepared, dedicated, and plans to use his experience to help keep Newtown on track to prosper.

Derek holds a BM from the University of Arizona, an MM from New York University, and studied music at the Julliard School.  He is married with three children; all of which have graduated from the Newtown School system.
