Don Ramsey has been a proud resident of Newtown for 29 years. A retired public school educator with a 40-year career, Don dedicated 25 years to the Norwalk Public Schools and 15 years as a Technology Education teacher at Newtown Middle School. Throughout his career, he served as a teacher, counselor, supervisor, and interim principal, always committed to helping students succeed.
His work has been widely recognized—earning honors such as Teacher of the Year (2004–2005), the Profiles in Professionalism Award (2015–2016), and the American Legion Community Americanism Award (2022). Don also previously served on the Newtown Board of Education from 2021 to 2024, where he worked to strengthen the district’s commitment to excellence.
Don believes exemplary schools are built on a strong partnership between students, educators, and parents. If elected, he will continue to promote policies that support motivated teachers, engaged students, and effective leadership—ensuring Newtown schools provide the highest level of excellence in education for all.
