Melissa Beylouni

Melissa Beylouni is a Republican Candidate for Board of Education. She has been a PTA President in Newtown Public Schools for 11 years, including Head O’ Meadow, Newtown Middle School and is currently President of the Newtown High School PTSA. The driving force behind her running for Board of Education is to help strengthen the relationship between the needs of the school community and the BOE mission. Through her decade long tenure as a parent leader, she has had hundreds of dealings with faculty, administration, staff, and students. This experience makes her uniquely qualified to serve effectively on the Board of Education and put forward the best interests of the Newtown community. 

Melissa is looking forward to serving her beloved Newtown at this new capacity. Melissa moved to Newtown 23 years ago from Long Island. She worked for 14 years as a senior sales consultant for Dejana Truck Equipment. Through her employment she met and married her wonderful husband, David Beylouni. They have two sons David and Andrew who both attended Newtown Public Schools. Andrew is currently a senior at Newtown High School. In her private time Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Family is the heart of her life. She enjoys cooking, dining out, working out, walking, traveling to the beach and playing with her three precious dogs: Saffy, Ruby and Rufus. The Beylouni family is community focused on Newtown and the Greater Danbury area.
