Board of Finance
My goals/objectives in running for a 3rd term on BOF are to continue to see Newtown grow and prosper while maintaining fiscal accountability. While keeping Newtown’s small town feel and sense of community. I am again taking on this challenge with the encouragement, love and support of my wonderful family. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Newtown.
As many of you know my family moved to Newtown from Maine in 1967. I grew up and went through the Newtown School System. I have lived in town for 52 years, leaving for a brief period when I first married, then returning to raise my family here. My wife of 40 years, Sue is a retired nurse and current Assistant Republican Registrar of Voters. She also is part of the Newtown Community Center staff. We have 2 sons Brendon (39), is Director of Residence Life at Mass College of Liberal Arts and Ryan (34), Manager of Caraluzzi’s W&S Fairgrounds. We also have 3 “Grand pups” Nymeria, Tate and Kaycee.
Along with serving on the BOF for the past 4 years, my expansive and varied business experience helped qualify me for my position on this board. I was the Vice President of Operations for Atlantic Air Commuter Airlines (family owned and operated). Manager of a (multi-million dollar) liquor store overseeing purchasing, maintaining inventory, setting pricing, hiring/scheduling staff, advertising and marketing. Currently I am a Sales Consultant (30 plus years) for Eder Bros, managing accounts with buying, maintaining inventory and correct pricing. Also helping accounts know when and what to purchase for best profitability.
I have been honored to serve on the BOF for 4 years. This past term I have served as Vice Chair (Dec 2023-Dec 2024) and currently as Chair (Dec 2024-Present). Over the past 4 years I have been selected to work on numerous committees.
I look forward to running for a Third term on the BOF and continuing to serve the people of Newtown.
