I am a dedicated law enforcement professional with 10 years of service in Connecticut and a strong commitment to community. At 36 years old, I carry a deep sense of duty to the role as Police Commissioner for the Newtown Police Department.
My professional path began with an eight-year tenure in the United States Marine Corps, where I developed the leadership, discipline, and problem-solving skills that continue to guide my law enforcement work. Over the past decade, I have served in a variety of roles — as a member of the Emergency Service Unit, Community Policing, and as a School Resource Officer. These experiences have shown me the positive impact strong, collaborative relationships between law enforcement and the community can have, especially in schools where the safety and well-being of children is paramount.
Alongside frontline service, I have contributed to initiatives shaping law enforcement training, safety measures, and community programs. This work has given me a strong understanding of how to set priorities and make thoughtful decisions about the resources needed to keep both officers and residents safe. My service has also been recognized through honors including a Life Saving Award, Blue Mass Award, and multiple Unit Citations, acknowledgments of my dedication to protecting others and serving with integrity.
I believe that effective policing is not just about enforcement, but about building trust, creating safe spaces, and working alongside residents to address challenges before they escalate. My commitment is to use these experiences to help shape a safer, stronger, and more connected Newtown.
I live in Sandy Hook with my wife and three children. I am an active member of the community, coaching my children in multiple sports and supporting their involvement in local athletic programs. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family — we love to go fishing, hiking, and taking advantage of Newtown’s outdoor spaces together.
Having served in other communities, I am eager to give back to the town where my children are growing up and to contribute to a safe, supportive environment for future generations.
