Stephen Csordas

My name is Stephen Csordas, and I am seeking a position on the Newtown Board of Finance. 

With over four decades of experience, I have been actively engaged in financial systems and internal audit roles within corporate management since 1980. Presently, I am self-employed, assisting businesses in information security, risk management, and third-party compliance. My expertise encompasses corporate governance, internal controls, the accounting cycle, and financial reporting.

As a candidate for the Board of Finance, I recognize its crucial role in monitoring and reviewing matters concerning Newtown's financial landscape. Should I be elected, I will work to ensure the quality and transparency of the Town's financial reporting, the effective and efficient allocation of funds, and the reporting of financial information to the public in a comprehensive and clear manner.

My connection to Newtown dates to 1986 when my wife and I first moved here. My wife is a registered physical therapist, and our son is a proud 2015 graduate of the Newtown school system. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading mystery and suspense fiction. My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in economics.

My extensive experience as an analyst, auditor, and management consultant aligns perfectly with the responsibilities entrusted to the Board of Finance.
