If you are going away and would like to vote in the November 2, 2021 Municipal Election, complete your Application for Absentee Ballot now and mail it to the Town Clerk, 3 Primrose Street, Newtown, CT 06470 or deposit it in the ballot box located at the North and South entrance of the Municipal Center. Your ballot will then be mailed to you on October 1, 2021. Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office or can be downloaded here.
Ballots must be must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on November 2, 2021. Completed absentee ballots may be mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office, or deposited in the ballot drop boxes located on the North and South entrances of the Municipal Center, or hand-delivered to the Town Clerk during business hours. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

An absentee ballot may be applied for by any qualified registered voter unable to vote due to the following reasons:
Illness or physical disability
Absence from town during all election hours
Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
